A key member of The Professional Golfers' Association
(PGA) Senior Management Team from 1992 - 2006 as Commercial
Director. Responsible for increasing revenue streams for the PGA
via commercial partnerships, sponsorship deals and licensing
initiatives. Development of the current strategy for the PGA's
brand and trademark development as well as the internet promotional
strategy
Development of golf tourism strategies for overseas
government representatives
Represented the PGA's interests in the Ryder Cup joint venture
with the European Tour as Assistant Ryder Cup Director from 1997 -
2003, , an event which has grown on both sides of the Atlantic into
one of the world's largest sporting events. Through involvement in
strategic planning for the Ryder Cup has developed unique
expertise in the staging and logistics of a major sporting event
including infrastructure planning, traffic and security management,
sponsorship, and competitor and spectator requirements.
Since its formation in Dec 2006 Comuniq8 has maintained an
ongoing consultancy agreement with the PGA, to encompass a
number of special projects
Planned and managed a tour of all of the golf clubs in Wales
with the Ryder Cup during the week of the Wales Open to raise
awareness of the Ryder Cup coming to Wales in 2010 and of the
official charity, Tenovus
Planning and delivery of the PGA Annual Lunch an event in
London's Grosvenor House for 1000 - 1200 guests.
The company has other consultancy agreements with the Motor
Sports Association for sponsorship and event support in Wales and
Scotland as well as a recent project to create a new MotoGP racing
team through the development and delivery of a unique sponsorship
strategy.
